Optimal System Planning

• For optimum system expansion and planning. Ability to place new resources in the system at the right location so that the added resources contribute optimally to system expansion goals. Goals may be to reduce system congestion, voltage problems, or minimization of losses or costs. AEMPFAST provides effectiveness of the existing systems and future additions using sensitivity indexes.

Distributed Resources (DR) and Generation Planning and Operation

• Planning tool for optimum placement of Distributed Resources and Distributed Generation. Provides optimum locations and the effectiveness of the resources at different locations in the system and eliminates the need for expensive, time consuming, sub-optimal, and repetitious "what if" kind of placement studies.
• Distributed Resource and generation scheduling and operation.

Reactive Power and Voltage Optimization

• Optimal scheduling of reactive power resources in the system to attain best voltage profile in the system. Optimizations will prevent voltage collapse in the system and keep losses to a minimum.

Loss Minimization

• Minimizes transmission P and Q losses resulting in a more efficient transmission system.
• Our non-linear approach to the distribution system will give more accurate results in a real time environment.
• Allows for increased system capacity by at least 10+%.

Congestion Management

• Planning or real-time tool to detect system congestion and perform congestion management. Provides accurate congestion scenarios and effectiveness of the controls in the system to remove congestion. The tool can be used to detect flow congestions in the system and provide quick, accurate solutions to remove the congestion.

Multiple Objectives

• Each customer is unique which alows us to create multiple objectives at the same time for your own needs.
• There are no limits to the objectives, spanning from the least amount of carbon emission to regulatory constraint.

Locational Marginal Pricing (LMP)

• Provides more accurate estimate of Locational Marginal Price compared to current LMP methods, which are based on DC OPF approach.

Security Constrained Unit Commitment

• Unit commitment package that considers all the transmission system parameters and constraints. Supports multiple objectives.
